Who is David?

A few words about David from some of his family, friends and colleagues

David is my very special husband, my best friend and my soul mate. He is the one person in my life that I cannot imagine being without. We are like one person – we love and live for each other and have always been happy despite our trials and tribulations with David's unrelenting fight with brain tumours.

David is the most selfless person; he is kind, compassionate, faithful, giving and very funny. His bravery and courage, his zest for life and boundless positivism are infectious. I have never met a person who has not instantly fallen in love with his big smile and his adorable personality, the moment they meet him. He is simply the best person I know and could ever hope to know. I am so grateful to call him mine and our daughter will be the luckiest little girl when she meets her special daddy. He is incredible, irreplaceable, one in a billion.

Almina Robinson, Wife

David Robinson is a 28 year old trainee police officer with Leicestershire Constabulary.

He was recruited after 2 very successful years as a Police Community Support Officer. I have worked with Dave throughout his career and I would describe him as an exceptional officer as well as a decent person. Unfortunately since the age of 17, Dave has suffered with brain tumours. He has fought them off on two previous occasions but is now faced with a fight against four aggressive tumours which are proving very difficult to treat.

Dave is very fortunate to have the support of his loving wife Almina, their extended families and a huge network of friends and colleagues. He is a huge Leicester City football fan and a talented player in his own right. Imagine if you will, being 28 years old on the threshold of a career which is what you have always wanted. Starting your life with your partner, your own family, and loving playing football as Dave clearly does. Now imagine having the possibility of that taken away due to these life shattering tumours that he has. This is happening to Dave; he and Almina are living through this on a daily basis. In the face of all this he always appears to be a positive person, smiling, and continuing with his life, as much as he can do.
